Millennials Care About Their Health

In general, millennials tend to be very focused on maintaining a healthy lifestyle. They've witnessed the health issues of previous generations, and thus are much more cautious about the products they use and the kinds of foods they put in their bodies.

Millennials Care About the Environment

They also care about the environment. In fact, for many of them, environmental issues are a top priority in their purchasing decisions. They want to use products and services that they know are good for the planet.

Millennials Value Experiences Over Material Possessions

This is a key factor to always be aware of when marketing to millennials. They are typically not driven by products. Their spending habits are focused more on life experiences rather than the accumulation of material possessions.

That doesn't mean they don't like things. It simply means that aren't generally driven by consumerism to the same extent as past generations. Thus you need to appeal to them on a more emotional level rather than convincing them that your product will impress their peers.

Millennials Care About Saving Money

Another factor in the non-consumerism culture of millennials is that they would rather save money than buy expensive items they don't need. In fact, saving money is a huge priority. After all, money in the bank provides a certain level of security that grants them peace of mind during uncertain times.

Millennials Research Before Buying

In addition to seeking advice from their network of friends and family, millennials also scour the Internet for insight into products and services before making a purchasing decision.

They read blogs in order to educate themselves and to mine information from online sources they trust. In fact, they trust blogs and social media more than they trust traditional forms of advertising such as magazines and TV.
